The Egyptian Chefs Association extends its congratulations to Wadi Food, our Diamond Sponsor, for achieving a Guinness World Record during its fifth annual Olive Harvest Festival.
Held at the company’s farm at KM 54 on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, the festival featured the record-breaking creation: a rotating chicken grill measuring 62.8 meters long, capable of cooking 390 chickens simultaneously. This monumental achievement reflects Wadi Food’s commitment to excellence and innovation in food production.
The idea for the world-record-breaking grill was the brainchild of Tony S. Freiji, Executive Chairman of Wadi Group. His vision and leadership were key in conceptualizing and executing the ambitious project.
The event, which celebrated the olive harvest season, was inaugurated by Wadi Food CEO Mostafa Mehanna. In his opening remarks, Mehanna expressed pride in the company’s accomplishments during what he described as “the year of records.” He highlighted that the chicken used in the grill was produced by Wadi Food, emphasizing the company’s dedication to providing high-quality poultry products to Egyptian consumers.
“It is not just about entering the Guinness World Records,” Mehanna stated. “It’s about proving to everyone that we can achieve extraordinary things and unprecedented achievements when we plan together and work hard.”
A huge shoutout goes to Chef Khaldy and his dedicated team, who were responsible for cooking the chicken on the record-breaking grill. Their skill, hard work, and meticulous attention to detail were instrumental in making this historic achievement possible.
Mehanna also spoke about the significance of olive cultivation for Egypt’s olive oil industry, which he described as one of the best globally. He praised Wadi Food’s role in enhancing agricultural production quality and acknowledged the state’s efforts to support the sector through national initiatives, such as the One Million Feddans project and greenhouse farming programs.
Wadi Food has long been a leader in the olive oil market, renowned for its strict production standards and the absence of pesticides or genetically modified materials in its products.
Khalil Nasrallah, Business Excellence Vice President at Wadi Group, underscored the company’s 40th anniversary and its enduring commitment to Egyptian families. “We are proud that our products, especially olive oil, embody 100% Egyptian quality and compete with the highest international standards,” Nasrallah said.
The Olive Harvest Festival highlighted Wadi Food’s legacy of innovation, sustainability, and excellence in food production. With the record-breaking grill, the company not only celebrated its achievements but also reaffirmed its commitment to delivering the best and healthiest options for the Egyptian consumer.
As Wadi Food celebrates this historic milestone, it continues to pave the way for excellence in the agricultural and food industries, setting a shining example for what can be achieved through vision, hard work, and collaboration.
